Valentineās Day happening during Aquarius season has never made sense to me. This has always been the case, given what we know of the Aquarius archetype, but itās especially true in 2024. With a month full of complicated astrology (and a particularly gnarly Mars-Pluto conjunction on Valentineās Day), it can be easy to lose touch with our Love and Lady Venus. Donāt fret, beloveds: This month is about loving differently.
The sky weāre living under right now doesnāt feel particularly tender, at least on the surface. Thereās a cold, solemn energy in the air that matches the weather right now for those of us in the northern hemisphere. This is thanks to Saturn in Pisces (soon to be joined by Venus ā more on that next month) and a host of planets passing through Saturnās signs, Capricorn and Aquarius.
However, this prevailing sense of solemnity is only one side of the coin. On the other, we find hope grown from the knowledge that things can be better than this.
As Venus travels out of Capricorn and into Aquarius this month, pay attention to the thoughts and feelings youāre having about your future and how you want to shape it. This is especially true for your relationships, creative practices, and personal finances, all Venusian topics.
Hereās a complete list of Venusā movements in February:
Tuesday, February 6: Venus in Capricorn squares the North Node in Aries
Friday, February 16: Venus enters Aquarius
Saturday, February 17: Venus conjunct Pluto in Aquarius
Thursday, February 22: Venus conjunct Mars in Aquarius
Saturday, February 24: Venus in Aquarius squares Jupiter in Taurus
Aquarius is the dreamer, the innovator, a pioneer in education and technology. While Venus in Capricorn helps us appreciate what we have and what we can cultivate, Venus in Aquarius shows us where weāre capable of more. We need this insight to bridge the gap between the future we want and the present moment.
Venus in Aquarius empowers us to reimagine what love can look like. This planet-in-sign combination sometimes gets a bad rap for being ādetachedā or āunemotional.ā Itās a common misconception ā in reality, the water bearer holds space for love in its most unusual and abstract forms. For Venus in Aquarius, love is broad, swaddling entire communities. Itās a logical, forward-thinking type of love, and itās stronger because of those qualities, not in spite of them.
Song Recommendation: āGraceā by Florence + The Machine
