It’s the last Venus day of October, which means it’s time for next month’s astrology forecast. November’s transits include triumphant moments for Venus and Mars, as well as some tense alignments involving Saturn and Uranus. It’s a mixed bag of a month, but then again, when has a 30-day stretch ever been perfect?
Astrology, our cosmic mirror of the never-ending chaos down here on earth — or as we say in the biz, as above, so below.
All in all, I prefer November’s alignments to the shitshow that was (/is, if you’re reading this on October 27) eclipse season. Pleasure, connection, decisive action — these sorts of things will flow more easily as the month unfolds.
Read on for your November 2023 astrology forecast. And if you’d like a more personalized overview of how these transits will impact you based on your birth chart, consider becoming a paid Venus Gays subscriber to access your monthly horoscope. Those will drop next Wednesday, November 1.
Friday, November 3: The Sun in Scorpio opposes Jupiter in Taurus
This isn’t the only opposition occurring around this time, but it’s one we’re likely to feel on a personal level. When the Sun and Jupiter play tug of war, our core sense of self squares off with our capacity to go big. Feeling confident and well-resourced is a good thing, and we could receive a welcome boost of that energy. But there’s potential for hubris, too. Temper any grandiosity that arises on or around this date, and don’t say “yes” to an opportunity if something feels off, or you can’t actually follow through.
Wednesday, November 8: Venus enters Libra
Our newsletter’s namesake comes home to Libra, one of the two zodiac signs she rules, toward the beginning of the month. She’ll stay in this sweet spot until early December. This stretch of time is lovely for our relationships, aesthetic choices, and creative endeavors. It’s also a total vibe shift for Venus, who spent the summer retrograding through Leo and didn’t fare much better when she finally entered Virgo. If you’ve been waiting for the perfect moment to ask out your crush, host that fancy dinner party, or curate your fall/winter capsule wardrobe, now’s the time.
Saturday, November 11: Mars in Scorpio opposes Uranus in Taurus
On the 11th, ambitious Mars opposes rebellious Uranus — and in fixed signs, both planets are especially unwilling to strike a balance between how they like to operate. It’s a chaotic signature that could trigger or exacerbate conflict. Since Uranus is a transpersonal planet, we may see this tension play out on a collective level, too. If someone’s oddball tendencies rub you the wrong way, this is not the day to confront them. And for the anxious girlies out there, take care to ground yourself. A face-off between Mars and Uranus does not bode well for our nervous systems.
Monday, November 13: New Moon in Scorpio
November’s New Moon in Scorpio marks the first non-eclipse lunation in this sign since 2021. It’s a true fresh start in the Scorpio sector of your chart, which makes it ripe for retrospection or shadow work. I won’t always suggest such tender stuff when Mars is hanging out nearby, but after the transformative skin-shedding of this Taurus-Scorpio nodal transit, some Martian juju may actually help you power through. Plus, Uranus in opposing Taurus could spark a breakthrough or two.
We’ve all spent the past year and a half releasing fixations and emotional attachments that no longer serve us. Your heart is an empty room; now, it’s time to think about how you want to fill it.
Saturday, November 18: Mars Cazimi in Scorpio
Mars forms a Cazimi, or exact conjunction to the Sun, on the 18th (or the 17th, depending on your time zone). For my fellow astro nerds, it’s actually the first Mars Cazimi to occur in Scorpio since 1991. This potent part of the Red Planet’s cycle clarifies our ambitions and renews our impulse to action. If you’ve been feeling stuck or ambivalent about something, your next steps may suddenly become clear.
Wednesday, November 22: The Sun enters Sagittarius
Happy Sagittarius season! The Sun’s yearly sojourn in Sag shines a light on our inner stan and gets the end-of-year party started. Impassioned spiels, radical honesty, and jubilant kikis are all par for the course. We’re living through increasingly dark times, but that doesn’t mean we should deprive ourselves of joy or celebration.
Saturday, November 25: Mars in Sagittarius squares Saturn in Pisces
This tense aspect between the two malefic planets is one to watch out for. Actionable Mars likes to go fast; stern Saturn likes to pump the brakes. When their energies square off, we tend to feel irritable, frustrated, or repressed. Inconveniences and delays are inevitable — and in the face of these stressors, our fuses could be much shorter than usual. Remember, we’ll all be navigating this transit together. Patience and empathy will go a long way.
Monday, November 27: Full Moon in Gemini
At the end of the month, a Full Moon in Gemini will light up the night sky. This lunation could harken back to the New Moon in Gemini that occurred in June. What bright ideas came to you at that time, and how have you worked to actualize them over the past six months? As with any Full Moon, emotions will be running high. A piece of advice from your resident Gemini: Resist the temptation to intellectualize your feelings and feel them instead. You’ll process tough stuff much faster that way.
